In this sermon from 1 Timothy 4, Jon Searle explores Paul's charge to a young leader stepping into ministry — a call that speaks to all of us. Drawing striking parallels between Timothy and Rachel, Jon unpacks the need for ongoing, intensified nourishment in God's truth, the challenge to lead by example with a soft heart, and the invitation to immerse yourself fully in what God has already given you. With honesty, humour and warmth, he warns that the greatest enemy of both leader and church is not opposition but busyness — and that the foundation of ministry is simply keeping yourself fed on Jesus.

What happens inside us when God raises someone else? Jonathan opened his hands in generous love; Saul tightened his grip in jealous fear. The same David, the same God — two very different hearts. This sermon from 1 Samuel 18 explores how comparison is a thief, why someone else's calling doesn't cancel ours, and what it means to ask: what has God already put in my hand?

When the Israelite army faced Goliath's daily threat for forty days, they were paralysed by fear. But a young shepherd boy stepped onto the battlefield with a different kind of confidence, not in armour or weaponry, but in who God is and what He had already done. Drawing from the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17, we explore how God loves to use our ordinariness, our humanity, and whatever is in our hands to bring His victory. We are invited to remember His faithfulness, to ask for His perspective when circumstances feel impossible, and to be clothed in His courage for whatever we face.

A walk through Psalm 23 exploring how God forms us through every season — leading us, walking beside us in the valleys, and pursuing us with unfailing love.
